Binomo App in India — the Legal Side
Installing the app does not change who you are dealing with: the account behind it belongs to Dolphin Corp LLC in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, it carries no SEBI licence, and the Reserve Bank of India lists Binomo on its Alert List. This page covers what that means for your documents, for money that leaves the country, and for your options if something goes wrong.
Open a Binomo account →Nothing about the app is licensed in India. The Binomo app is a mobile front end for an account operated by Dolphin Corp LLC in St. Vincent and the Grenadines: Binomo holds no SEBI authorisation, the Reserve Bank of India lists it on its Alert List of unauthorised electronic trading platforms, and its IFMRRC certificate and Category A Financial Commission membership are international credentials rather than Indian ones. In practice that shapes three things for a user in India — which documents you must upload before a withdrawal, how your bank sees a cross-border deposit, and who you can turn to if a payment stalls.
What the Binomo app does
- The app is a front end for an offshore account — the operator is Dolphin Corp LLC, registered in St. Vincent and the Grenadines
- No Indian licence: Binomo is not authorised by SEBI, and the RBI lists it on its Alert List of unauthorised electronic trading platforms
- Its IFMRRC certificate and Category A membership of The Financial Commission are international credentials, not Indian approvals
- Distribution follows the same pattern: the Android app is not listed on Google Play right now, and the iOS app is not in the India App Store
- Before a first withdrawal the app asks for a government photo ID (PAN card, Aadhaar, passport or driving licence) plus a proof of address
- A deposit made from the phone is money leaving the country — under FEMA rules, sending funds to an unauthorised platform can create legal and banking risk
Trade from anywhere
The app, the browser platform and the balance are one offshore account. Read where Binomo stands in India before you fund it, and keep the free demo for anything you want to test — it needs no documents and moves no money across the border.
Open a Binomo account →Which rules the app is actually under
The screen on your phone is Indian; the account behind it is not. Binomo is operated by Dolphin Corp LLC, registered in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and the terms you accept at sign-up are that company's terms. No Indian statute sits behind them and no Indian regulator holds a register of Binomo clients — the status page sets out the SEBI and RBI position in full.
Two international credentials are usually quoted: an IFMRRC certificate and Category A membership of The Financial Commission, whose compensation fund covers approved claims up to EUR 20,000. Both are industry bodies. Neither is an Indian licence, neither creates a right of appeal to SEBI or the Reserve Bank of India, and neither can be read as permission to operate locally.
That is also why the app reaches Indian phones the way it does. The Android build is not listed on Google Play right now and is installed through the genuine Binomo download link; the iOS app, Binomo: Smart investments (published by Titawin Limited), is not in the India App Store right now, so on an iPhone the same account opens in the browser. A file installed outside a store carries no store-level vetting, and there is no local consumer channel to escalate that to.
Documents, and why the app asks for them
Registration and the demo need only an email. Verification comes later and it is not optional: before a first withdrawal Binomo asks for a government photo ID — a PAN card, Aadhaar, passport or driving licence — plus a proof of address such as a recent utility bill or bank statement, and confirmation that the card or wallet used to deposit belongs to you. Review usually takes a few business days, and an unclear scan means a re-upload.
Two consequences are easy to miss on a small screen. First, the name and address on the account have to match the documents you will eventually upload, so an account opened casually under a nickname, or funded with a relative's card, becomes unusable at the exact moment you ask for your money back. Second, those documents go to an offshore company that sits outside India's grievance framework — that is a decision you take at registration, not a formality. The full list is on the verification page.
Money leaving the country from a phone screen
A deposit is a cross-border payment however small the screen is. The minimum is 10 USD, and under FEMA rules sending money abroad to an unauthorised platform can create legal and banking risk for the trader. Banks and card issuers apply their own policies to such transfers and some decline them outright — that refusal is a decision made in India, and no amount of support chat with the platform changes it.
The return leg matters as much. Withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with, profit above the deposit is usually paid by bank transfer, and the minimum withdrawal is 10 USD with no Binomo fee. Because the money arrives from abroad, your own bank may ask what it is for, and your record of deposits, trades and withdrawal requests is the only documentation you will have. Timings by account level are on the withdrawal page.
Before you trade from the app in India — a legal checklist
- Read the status page first: no SEBI licence, and Binomo is on the RBI Alert List of unauthorised electronic trading platforms.
- Register in your own legal name, exactly as it appears on the ID you will later upload — a mismatch surfaces only at the first withdrawal.
- Keep the free demo (about 1,000 USD in virtual funds) for anything you want to test; it needs no documents and sends no money abroad.
- Before depositing, check that your bank or card issuer will process a cross-border payment of this kind — that decision is theirs, not the platform's.
- Save your own records of deposits, withdrawals and payment methods: there is no Indian statement or contract note behind these trades.
- Treat every payout figure as an upper limit rather than a promise — a fixed-time trade can lose the whole staked amount.
Information only, not legal or tax advice. Fixed-time trading is high risk and you can lose your whole deposit.
